On Thursday 21st March, 39 Council Procurement Professionals from across Far North Queensland came together for a day of learning at the Local Buy Procurement Summit.
With a full day of speakers, imparting their knowledge it was a unique opportunity to network with like-minded procurement staff from other councils and to work on common problems collectively during the workshops.
With 10 valued Local Buy Suppliers taking up the opportunity to have a trade stand, they were able to engage face-to-face with the people in Council who are responsible for the procurement of goods and services.
Feedback from the event was extremely positive with both suppliers and our delegates gaining knowledge and making important connections for the future. 100% of respondents said they would attend another Local Buy Summit and everyone greatly valued the dedicated time to network with procurement colleagues from other councils and enjoyed meeting new people.
Local Buy is proud to organise events such as this and we look forward to hosting both Councils and Suppliers at our Conference in Brisbane in August.
