New Local Buy Mobile Garbage Bin Arrangement
On 3 December, Local Buy launched the NPN 111-3 Mobile Garbage Bins, Industrial Containers & Bins, Static Compactors, Associated Products and Services Arrangement. This follows a formal tender process delivering a robust panel of approved suppliers that will deliver value for money on behalf of all Queensland and Northern Territory councils and State government entities and not-for-profit organisations.
The NPN 111-3 arrangement supports councils by including ten product categories:
1. Plastic Mobile Garbage Bins (MGB’s) Product Certified to AS 4123.1-2008
2. Plastic Mobile Garbage Bins (MGB’s) Commercial sizes Australian Standard Certification

3. MGB Spare Parts
4. Industrial Containers, Static Compactors (including Balers) and Lifters
5. Spare Parts and Accessories to suit Industrial Containers, Compactors (including Balers)
and Lifters
6. Other Bins and Receptacles
7. Spare Parts and Accessories for Other Bins
8. RFID Technology and Accessories for Waste Collection operations
9. Other Waste Products
10. Range of Services (including Industrial and other).

This arrangement began back in 2006 for the benefit of Queensland purchasers, and has evolved to include the Northern Territory. Throughout the length of the arrangement, council consultation and feedback has enabled Local Buy to understand the changing needs of local and State government purchasers and update the arrangement accordingly.
