Thank you very much to all of the delegates who joined Local Buy for our second Procurement Summit in Beaudesert on 25 May 2023.
The Summit was opened by Jessica Jones, Local Buy’s Executive Director Engagement & Strategic Partnerships, with a warm welcome to the region by Mayor Greg Christensen and a key-note address from CEO David Keenan of Scenic Rim Regional Council, our co-hosts for the event.
Attendees representing 11 councils from the region enjoyed another robust line up of speakers who shared their wealth of knowledge and experience. Once again we’re pleased to share that 100% of respondents surveyed at the conclusion of the event indicated they found value in attending.
While our procurement and industry experts covered topics such as Data Driven Decision Making, The Building Blocks for Advancing Local Government Procurement in Queensland and Key Global Factors which will influence Procurement over the next 5-10 years during their sessions, our 45 delegates also enjoyed the opportunity to network and collaborate with council and other government peers. Panel discussions had attendees “Looking to the future” and also considering the value of “Social and Sustainable Procurement” in their communities.
