Engagement Update - May 2024

After the highly successful Local Buy FNQ Procurement Summit in March, there was no time to rest on our laurels! The Engagement Team have been out and about visiting councils far and wide.

Jeremy and Liz headed off to Somerset this month to take part in a First Nations Connect event, along with a full playbook of other council meetings. We attended the IPWEA Asset Management Symposium and IPWEA NQ Branch Conference to engage with subject matter experts.

I presented to four Northern Territory-based councils to educate about Local Buy and perform VendorPanel training. The wonders of Teams were not wasted with the ability to present virtually - combatting the tyranny of distance!

For small business month, Audrey attended the highly popular Cairns Regional Council Meet the Buyer event with over 120 delegates in attendance. It was a fantastic opportunity to promote the benefits of being a Local Buy Supplier. If you would like our team to work with you on a supplier engagement session, please let us know we are keen to collaborate with Council to target the supplier local to your region.

With the forthcoming launch of several brand-new pre-qualified supplier arrangements, we will be hosting online and face-to-face launches. Keep an eye out for these on the events page on our website.

Additionally, plans for the Local Buy Annual Conference are shaping up, with two exciting keynote speakers confirmed and registration links to be sent out to delegates very soon.

Our New Supplier Welcome Sessions are becoming extremely popular and take place on arund the 24th of each month. If you are a new supplier and would like to learn how to maximise being a Local Buy Supplier or an existing supplier who would like a re-cap, please feel free to register to attend.
