Aside from the amazing opportunity to engage with suppliers and delegates at the Local Buy Advancing Queensland Procurement Conference in Brisbane between 7th – 9th August, the team have undertaken a number of other important council meetings.

We have commenced a monthly Local Buy Update and VendorPanel Demonstration session for councils and non-Local Government clients which feedback proves to be valuable. With over 40 attendees, this session is perfect for new starters who need to be trained on Local Buy and how to issue Requests for Quote (RFQs) quicky and compliantly through VendorPanel. Our next session is taking place in August, so feel free to register here: VendorPanel Demo.

Jeremy headed to Central Queensland at the beginning of the month to meet with Central Highlands Regional Council, Woorabinda Aboriginal Shire Council, Banana Shire, Bundaberg Regional Council, Gladstone Regional Council, Rockhampton Regional Council and Livingstone Shire Council.

Audrey and I ventured north to Hope Vale Aboriginal Shire Council, Cook Shire Council and Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council last week. To maximise our time in the region, we hosted a local Supplier Engagement Event to explain the benefits of being a Local Buy pre-qualified supplier and Council also talked through the Capital plan for the coming financial year.

These types of events are a fantastic opportunity for councils to nominate suppliers they feel would benefit from becoming pre-qualified on Local Buy Arrangements. If you would like to arrange a similar event in your region, please contact epeters@localbuy.net.au

Looking to the future, we are arranging a Fleet Managers Forum in Townsville on 31st October covering various topics about trends in Government Fleet. This free one-day forum will see Fleet Managers and suppliers gather for a day of education and networking.
