Meet your new Procurement Tech Partner, Michelle Stockdale

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Michelle Stockdale as the new Procurement Partner supporting our Local Buy technology for Queensland councils.

Michelle has an extensive background working in Queensland local government, joining us from Burdekin Shire Council where she worked in various procurement roles over the last 15 years. 

With a robust understanding of the procurement challenges facing small and regional councils, Michelle looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience of local government procurement councils and how Local Buy technology supports them.

Michelle was on council’s internal project team in 2019 for the implementation of their Procurement Tech Platform, VendorPanel enterprise and Data Analytics technology at the time of implementation.  Michelle played a pivotal role as the VendorPanel go-to at council and provided training to new staff, refresher training for existing staff, as well as covering all aspects of Local Government legislative procurement compliance.

In her time at Burdekin, Michelle was an active member of both Burdekin Shire Council’s Procurement Group and the NQROC Procurement Group where successful collaboration resulted in the establishment of regional shared tender arrangements.  Aggregated procurement in conjunction with the NQROC Procurement Group was a huge win for councils in the North Queensland region.  Michelle represented council at various procurement summits and conferences, showcasing her expertise and commitment to advancing procurement practices.

Michelle has led strategic procurement projects, focusing on the shift towards utilising more social and sustainable products, demonstrating her forward-thinking approach and dedication to sustainability. This places her well as Local Buy roll out additional Supplier Intelligence badging powered by givvable, in the VendorPanel Go-To-Market environment to support Environmental and Social Governance targets for our Local Buy customers.

In her spare time, Michelle enjoys playing golf and spending time with family and friends.

Michelle looks forward to assisting councils with their Procurement Tech journey and maximising the utilisation of the Local Buy technology solution offerings.
