Engagement update - March 2025
By Emma Peters, Head of Engagement
We have three unique face-to-face events planned for the year, starting with the FNQ Procurement Summit held in Cairns on 20th March. With 46 attendees from 18 different Local Government Authorities, the event was a great success. Our attendees all enjoyed an opportunity to network with one another and to hear from a range of speakers.
Later in the year, we will be holding a Fleet Managers Forum in Southeast Queensland for the very first time. Following a highly successful fleet event in Townsville in October 2024 we will be sharing the love with our southern council fleet professionals.
In November, we are organising a Central Queensland Procurement Summit with a varied agenda of topics focused on advancing Queensland procurement. Keep your eyes peeled on our events page on the website for more information.
We will continue to host monthly Local Buy Training and VendorPanel Demonstrations as they have been so popular with our stakeholders from Local Government, State Government and Government Owned Corporations. Our next one is in April, register here.
Additionally, we have introduced a new initiative for prospective Local Buy suppliers. In the month proceeding opening our tenders, we will hold an online session to inform and educate about the benefits of being a Local Buy Supplier and the next steps in the process.
We look forward to working alongside our Category Management Team in relation to briefing, launching and promoting a range of new Local Buy Arrangements including Fleet Services, Plant Machinery, Asset Management and Project Management in the coming months.
If that wasn’t enough engagement activity, you will able to speak with us at a number of conferences throughout the year including IPWEA, LGMA, LGAQ, LGANT and LGFP.
If there is anything our team can do to assist you, please do not hesitate to reach out. We look forward to working with you in 2025 to Advance Queensland Procurement.
