On Thursday 18th October 2018 Local Buy hosted a Fleet Managers Forum in Townsville. Previously the events have been held in Airlie Beach and Yeppoon.

A testament to our strong relationships with council Fleet Managers, this was the first year that Local Buy were invited to arrange the event on behalf of council. Townsville was agreed upon as the most central location and Townsville City Council kindly provided a venue for the event.

The day was deemed a great success with forty-four attendees in total. Twenty-three attendees represented eleven councils in North Queensland from Mareeba to Moranbah, with state government represenatives also attending.

A range of Local Buy pre-qualified suppliers sponsored the event, giving them the opportunity to network with delegates.

fleet forumSpeakers covered a range of topics including; plant hire calculations, an update on Local Buy fleet contracts, chain of responsibility, load restraint, telematics, disposal of fleet and tyre recycling.

The networking component of the forum proved to be very popular.

“Learning from one another and making connections with peers in other councils was an added benefit to an interesting and informative day.” Stanley Roos, Fleet Co-ordinator, Mareeba Shire Council

Local Buy was delighted to be invited to arrange this event and looks forward to hosting the Fleet Managers Forum again in 2019.
